'Bart Somers' was a pseudonym for the prolific comics creator Gardner F. Fox who also penned over a hundred skiffy novels, and the 'Commander Craig' series was intended to be a string of 'Perry Rhodan'-like adventures about the fix-it guy to end all fix-it guys in humanity's vast Empire in space.
